Things to Do & Places to Visit in Charlotte – Poppy’s Bagels & More
My hubby and I are fond of starting our Sunday mornings off with a bagel from Poppy’s Bagels & More. We have tried several local & chain bagel shops and Poppy’s Bagels & More sits at the very top of our list of favorites.
Poppy’s Bagels & More opened their doors in Charlotte’s popular Cotswold neighborhood in 2010. It is a small family-owned and run business. “Poppy”, after relocating to Charlotte from New York, missed the bagels from his hometown, so he sought to create the best bagel he could south of the Mason Dixon Line.
All the bagels are made fresh at Poppy’s in the traditional kettle boiled and baked method. The New York style bagels are divine – you know, the ones with shiny, crisp crust and the soft, chewy interior! In our opinion – and the opinions of may other Charlotte residents who frequent this establishment – Poppy’s serves up the perfect bagel!
If you’re in the Cotswold area or are passing through the area, you simply must give this establishment a try. Poppy’s does not disappoint! Our favorites are the blueberry bagels or the plain bagels with cream cheese and lox – delicious!
Aside from their amazing bagels, Poppy’s serves paninis, sandwiches, omelets and more. Watching your carb intake? No problem! You can order-up low-carb, no-carb homemade soups & salads too. They have a wonderful catering service that always receives 5-star ratings as well.
Poppy’s is located at the corner of Providence and Sharon Roads and always seems to be a-buzz! We have arrived with the line forming out the door and we were in and out of there in about 20 minutes. So, be patient – it is totally worth the wait!
